What is V-Gears?

V-Gears is a free implementation of the game Final Fantasy 7 engine, designed to work with the original game data.

In simpler words: It's a software that enables you to play Final Fantasy 7, in modern computers and operating systems. You only need your copy of the original game, and V-Gears can extract all it's contents and let you play them.

As a nice side effect, modding the game becomes easier than ever. From battle AI to dialogs, through 3D models, animations, sounds or backgrounds, V-Gears converts all complicated formats from the original game to easily readable and editable formats.
